2021 Experience: Visual Representation

Idea: For this project, I wanted to sum up my core memories in 2021. In the summer, my parents both got diagnosed with COVID and had to spend five nights in the hospital. The woman with tear drops represents my fear and emotions during this time period, as I was concerned with my parent's well-being. The two hands reaching to touch each other is a symbol of my parents staying in touch with me during this tough times. My dog was extremely comforting during this period and the vibrant flower in contrast to the dark background serves as a symbol of the good times in the future.

Materials: I used Photoshop and the magic selection tool to crop the images together. I used the different gradient tools and the hue saturation tool to enhance the different colors. I placed different color lookup filters to contrast the different hue tints within the image.

Processes: I made a cohesive image by adjusting the different brightness and hue saturation levels. I wanted them to all mold together to tell the story of my 2021 experience. The flow within the hands allow the eyes to follow the path of my year. I tried to show my advanced 2D design skill by created an image with flow, while synthesizing different elements of society.
